Jim Hanink, here. I'm from Inglewood. My wife Elizabeth and I are about to celebrate our 54th wedding anniversary. Our large family, like our neighborhood, is racially diverse. For forty years I taught philosophy at Loyola Marymount University (LA). I'm a writer, blogger, videocaster, and organizer.
I would support measures to provide decent permanent housing for the homeless. In addition I would support expanding wrap around mental health services. Lastly, I would support the aggressive prosecution of drug manufacturers and distributors.
I would support tax incentivies and the development of community owned utilities. Both measures would be cost effective and help make energy prices affordable/
I would support emergency relief efforts for those who have suffered such losses. I would support mandatory insurance programs to offset the loss of homes and jobs in the future. Lastly, I would work to prevent housing developments in fire prone areas.
I would support higher taxes for the super rich, an increase of the minimum wage, and experiments with universal basic income packages.
