Diedre Thu-Ha Nguyen is Mayor Pro Tem of Garden Grove, a laboratory cancer scientist, wife and mother of three active sons.

As a Council Member for the City of Garden Grove, she has worked closely to build coalitions with the Garden Grove Unified School District, nonprofits, labor, and first-responders to collaboratively promote education, public safety, and enhance business growth and career opportunities in the City of Garden Grove.

Diedre was first elected to serve on the Garden Grove City Council in 2016 and re-elected in 2018. During the pandemic, she has championed financial relief for renters who desperately need it, assistance to small businesses, and funding for non-profits providing direct help to local residents.

Diedre and her family know about sacrifice. Her Dad, a Marine Major, fought alongside U.S. troops in Vietnam. When Saigon fell in 1975, Vietnamese communists imprisoned him for eight years and treated as slave labor.

This has meant Diedre Thu-Ha Nguyen knows what extremists who believe their view is the only view can do to a country and its people. That’s why she’ll work to protect our Democracy, work to bring people together, work across political ideologies to make sure we see and hear one another as neighbors, not enemies.

Kimberly Ho is a true American success story. When she was just 11 years old, her family immigrated to the United States. When she arrived in America, she learned the value of hardwork, education, and community involvement. Kimberly went on to earn degrees from UCLA, UCI, University of Pacific, and USC. As Westminster City Councilmember, Kimberly has a proven track record of fighting for government transparency, fiscal responsibility, fully-funded law enforcement, a stimulated local economy, and limited but purposeful government. On the City Council, she has, time and time again, worked to expose corruption, unethical behavior, and back-room deals, even if that means opposing her colleagues. Emily Hibard is running for the 70th Assembly District in Orange County to make our neighborhoods safe again and to use her personal experience to explain to the Sacramento politicians the harmful effect these “soft on crime” policies have on victims.

Public safety is personal for Emily.   

In 1949, Her grandfather, a U.S. Marine, married her grandmother, a Mexican immigrant, and, together, started the family business in South Central Los Angeles.

By 1992, the family was forced to move our family business because of gangs, violence and riots.

It was Emily’s  job to run around with the garden hose and put out the fires that happened when the Molotov cocktails got thrown at their family business and neighboring businesses.

Emily was only 12 years old. 

Worse yet, as a young adult, she was robbed at a bank in Whittier, CA. So it is ingrained in Emily’s mind, how important it is to live in a safe neighborhood.

Emily Hibard is running for Assembly to make our neighborhoods safe again and to explain to the Sacramento politicians the harmful effect these “soft on crime” policies have on victims.

Specifically, Proposition 47 and 57 have given criminals the green light to commit crimes. Often times, they're released from jail only hours after they're arrested.

CRA Chapters from all over Orange County met this Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Northwest Orange County Republican Headquarters on Beach Blvd. in Stanton to make endorsements in races for Congress, State Senate, State Assembly, and any county offices up for election in 2022. To receive the endorsement of the statewide organization for AD70, a candidate had to get 2/3rd of the votes from the CRA Chapters in the 70th Assembly District - which includes the cities of Garden Grove, Westminster, Fountain Valley, Stanton, and Los Alamitos as well as portions of Santa Ana, Huntington Beach, Rossmoor, Seal Beach, and Midway City.

The winner of the Republican primary election on June 7, 2022 will face off against Garden Grove Mayor Pro-Tem Diedre Thu-Ha Nguyen for the open 70th Assembly District seat. AD70 is currently represented by Republican Janet Nguyen, who is running for the State Senate. The 70th District has a D+2 registration advantage, and Joe Biden won this seat by only 0.4% in 2020.
