Biografía

Intal attended and graduated Saint Marys College of California in Moraga, CA with a B.S. in Business Administration/Political Science. Intals first job ever held was at age 16 as a games associate at California's Great America. After several odd jobs during college, Intal finally decided to work in the automobile industry for a sum total of 5 years (2014-2018). In Intals previous professional experience in the automobile industry, he has been an Account Manager, Internet Sales Manager (Inside and Outside Sales), as well as a Manager for Rental Cars. During his tenure with Premier Automotive Group, Intal averaged 10+ - 15+ sold vehicles per month. Automobile Industry statistics show the average percentage of closed transactions per client at 7%. Intal doubled the national automobile industry closing percentage with a consistent closing ratio of 14%. As a rental car manager with Enterprise-Rent-A-Car, Intal worked at multiple high impact locations consistently finishing in the Top 5 of all Managers across all metrics. Intal averaged gross monthly revenues of $30,000-$45,000+ with a #1 Managerial finish in September 2018, along with a 90/100 customer satisfaction score. Intal is no stranger to hard work, putting 60+ work hours per week and on call for his clients 24/7. Intal is confident in bringing this skillset and work ethic to the U.S. House of Representatives. Deciding on a career change, Intal fell upon Weichert, Realtors and decided to work in the real estate industry as a licensed real estate agent in the state of California. Intal brings an educated, accomplished and experienced profile to Congress. Throughout his life, he has advocated for Environmental causes since High School, through College and up to his appointed term in his hometown of Hayward, CA via the City of Hayward Environmental Committee (Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force). Intal has a 7 year old German Shepherd named Scarlett. His account of adopting Scarlett goes like this: "I remember in college a couple colleagues and I were playing basketball in the front yard and this german shepherd puppy kept following me around. Turns out the neighbors no longer wanted her and I vowed to bring her home if she kept following me for the day. The end of the day came and as I was walking to my car she kept following me and jumped in the car with me. I knew she was my dog from that day forward." Intal previously lived in Dallas, Texas before deciding to move back to his home state of California.

On the Issues:

  • Medicare for All
  • Free College for All
  • Tax the Rich, Not the Working Class!
  • Environmental Justice/Renewable Energy
  • Housing is a Human Right (Renters Protections) (Championing Policy to End Homelessness)

This race is about an establishment Democrat who has taken over $2,000,000-$3,000,000+ each election cycle for nearly a decade from corporate donors, billionaires and special interests vs. a 100% grassroots campaign. What this means is that our current representative is not for us or the working class, he is for the billionaires.

For nearly a decade in the U.S. House of Representatives CA-15, we have been represented by corporate and special interest politicians. This election we say no to billionaires, corporate donors and special interests. This election we seek tax fairness for everyday people and the working class.

  • Community Involvement:
  • Environmental Committee City of Hayward (Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force) (2014-2015)
  • Homelessness and Hunger Task Force (City of Hayward)
  • Interned for California State Assembly Member Bill Quirk (D) handling constituents casework and public response efforts
  • Passed GMO labeling initiatives in Berkeley, CA taking on Big Business and Big Agriculture Companies like Monsanto to ensure that consumers know what they're eating

It is a moral imperative to ensure that working class people who work 40+, 50+, 60+ work hours per week keep more of their hard earned money. I'm positive that if I'm making $45,000, $50,000-$60,000 per year and struggling to make ends meet then other working class people are frustrated too. It is a shame that we struggle to pay rent, to put food on the table and keep the lights on. They will tell us that we don't work hard enough, that we are lazy or that "it's not their fault." That's why on Day 1, I will propose a "Progressive Tax Bracket and Fairness and Equality Act" It's time for the rich to pay their fair share. For too long we are constantly being sold out by billionaire, corporate and special interest politicians who are cutting taxes for the rich and shifting the tax burden to the working class.

Preguntas y Respuestas

Preguntas de League of Women Voters of California (3)

What financing method(s) would you support to repair or improve roads, rails, ports, airports, the electrical grid, and other infrastructure in the U.S.?
Respuesta de Austin E. Intal:

General Funding from the U.S. Congressional Budget.

Increasing taxes on the rich and cutting taxes for the working class.

Taxing the billionaires and Taxing Wall Street, not main street! Making corporations pay their fair share!

What programs or legislation, if any, would you support to help Americans of all ages to secure affordable health care?
Respuesta de Austin E. Intal:

We will support progressive legislation such as Medicare 4 All. We are on board with the Bernie Sanders platform for Medicare 4 All. Healthcare is a human right, not a privilege.

Describe an immigration policy that you would support if presented to the House of Representatives.
Respuesta de Austin E. Intal:

Our campaign supports the protection of immigrants and understands that we have a duty to provide secure documentation and a process for immigrants to become citizens. Being a first generation Filipino-American, I understand the struggles, wants, needs and concerns of those who come to this nation. I understand the process of becoming a citizen and planting roots in America. We will support legislation that seeks to provide pathways to citizenship. With that being said, we are a nation of 330 million (3rd in the World) and must address population growth in a practical manner. The current estimated immigration wait times from majority imports (Philippines and Mexico) have been estimated between 5-20 years. Current trends from 2007-2016 show an immigration decrease according to U.S. News. We seek common sense pathways in addressing immigration reform.
