Water rights in our Nation have a long history of infighting. Before our Nation was created the Native Americans had free use of the water in their land. After the United States was settled and the people moved West; water rights came to the forefront. Rivers were dammed; important food and habital features were also trapped behind these dams; and, water was restricted to Native Americans and others without question. Our Nation's water is one of our most valuable resource we have and the Federal government needs to work on issues providing water to everyone not just the few.
Being that I worked for the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) for over thirty years in law enforcement and administrative positions, I believe the the Executive Branch of our Nation should enforcement the existing laws that are in the book and not reverse the current policies such Title 42 that return individuals applying for asylum that entered the United States illegally.
Being that 2 to 3 millions persons have invaded our Nation; and our President, our Vice President and their administration have done nothing to stop them; I believe that we the people need to stop this irresponsible action by the Executive Branch. As a Congression Member I would support policies and legislation that would restart the building of "The Wall" immediately to insure our National Security and stop our porous southern border. This would also stop the increasing number of violent criminals and drugs entering our Nation illegally. I total support legal immigration and not illegal immigration that jeopardize our United States citizens and our lawful permanent residents.
Being that in 2019 the United States only emitted about 11% of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) worldwide while China emitted about 27% GHG, I believe we should pass legislation limiting imports from China until they lower their GHG emissions.

We need to reconsider desalination plants. Water conservation doesn't appear to be enough. California is a natural desert and we are fighting Nature. Desalination seems the only alternative, but I would support other options. Shutting down farms by water redirection is a terrible option.
The current laws are not well enforced due to partisan politics. The Dream Act should be put into law. It is unthinkable to either deport people who came here as children and for whom their land of birth is foreign. It is equally wrong to leave them in a kind of limbo, objects to be used as pawns by both parties at election time.
Above all, I support better behavior by members of Congress, especially with regard to donor and lobbyist influence. This must be solved by voters, not legislation. Clearly, anticorruption laws are not effective.
I will support legislation that is effective, with clear and measurable goals, that does not harm people or the environment. I am wary of unintended effects and legislation influenced by lobbying. That said, reducing pollution is always a worthy goal. We should study the decision to end nuclear power production and especially review whether it was influenced by partisan politics and those who would profit from its demise. With current technology, it may be possible to reduce greenhouse gases this way.

Partisan politics are destroying the nation and so is money in politics. We need someone who works for the people and not for corporations and special interests.
