Questions & Answers

Questions from League of Women Voters of California Education Fund and California Counts, a public media collaboration. (1)

The parents of some San Francisco students are concerned about potential Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids despite the school district and city’s status as a sanctuary. Are more measures needed to address these concerns?
Answer from Trevor McNeil:

Yes - the Board has an excellent record standing up against ICE raids of our families and if elected, I would be the only person on the Board of Education who actually has the experiance as a teacher of hearing about my students coming home from school and the adults in their life have been taken away. This isn't abstract - it's importnant policy work I'm committed to.
