My Top 3 Priorities
Revise Board Policy to give due process rights to all accused students and all employees at YCCD -- including right to know the charges against them, who accused them, right to question their accuser, and right to see final investigative report .
To actively promote Free Speech and open discussion of ideas necessary for attainment of knowledge and development of character and values. Bringing back a student newspaper would help increase transparency and public dialogue.
During remodelling, the main library at MJC was basically turned into a computer lab and t utoring center, with 70 % of its print volumes destroyed.. I want to restore it to its former glory as a first-rate research library.

Biography
Kevin was born and raised in Oakdale, the Cowboy Capital of the World. After graduating from Oakdale High where he participated in their award-winning Marching Mustangs and Academic Decathlon teams, he enrolled at Modesto Junior College. Kevin immediately got involved with the Associated Students during the budget cuts of the recession and brought hundreds of students to the State Capitol in Sacramento to protest the state's divestment from public higher education.
He spent his last year at MJC serving as student body president and prioritized rebuilding relationships between students and other stakeholders such as faculty, staff, and administrators. He later served two terms as Vice President of the Student Senate for California Community Colleges, representing nearly three million students, the largest student organization in the nation.
Kevin then transferred to UC Berkeley where his advocacy continued as Director of Legislative Affairs leading the Lobby Corps, a group of students dedicated to legislative advocacy in Sacramento and D.C. His team conducted more trips to the state and national capitals than any other year in its history. During his time in the UC, Kevin completed two terms in the leadership of the University of California Student Association - first as Chair of the Board of Directors and then as President.
