Biography
I started my college education at a community college in San Diego where I earned an Associates degree in Accounting. I continued my education at the University of Nevada-Reno obtaining both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees through the College of Agriculture.
During my 40-year career, I have worked in both the public and private sectors. I have 25 years of service with the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in McCloud and Mt. Shasta. I served on the management team in a supervisory role. The team prepared budgets, planned interdisciplinary projects and worked on employee issues. I am well acquainted with reading government budgets and spreadsheets. I had extensive experience working with diverse groups and learned the value of collaboration. I understand the diversity and needs of the county both socially and economically.
During my career with the Forest Service, I also obtained a California teaching credential that enhanced my understanding of the educational process.

Political Philosophy
The College of the Siskiyous provides excellent educational opportunities that are accessible to all in our rural area. Throughout my 30 years living in Siskiyou County, I have attended a variety of courses at the College of Siskiyous at both the Weed and Yreka Campuses. I have been impressed with the instructors and classes I have taken. I am very passionate about what community colleges can provide. Without this education I could not have achieved my goals.
I have supported the county in a variety of volunteer positions. For example, I have served on boards of nonprofits that include fundraising, presentations, secretarial tasks and finances. I have also tutored children and adults to promote literacy.
I am married with one daughter. My husband, Mark, is a local businessman that has done business throughout the county for 40 years. My daughter and son-in-law both work in the timber industry. My family and I are well invested in Siskiyou County.
I look forward to the opportunity of serving you on the College of the Siskiyous board of Trustees.
