I had the honor of serving in the Peace Corps in Ethiopia at the start of my career - teaching local children, fostering health programs and ultimately finding a life in public service. In the California legislature, I expanded community health clinics, protected Lake Tahoe, and developed a state agenda for competitiveness and scientific advancement. In Congress, I’ve delivered millions of dollars of earned benefits to my constituents, including $6.86 million dollars to veterans. I’ve enacted policies that require the military to address the threat of climate change, secured $181 million in new funding for construction at the 3rd District’s Air Force Bases, and established a tenant bill of rights for service members and their families are living in military housing. I’ve championed new middle-class jobs by fixing our infrastructure with strong Make it in America protections, and created better evacuation routes to keep our communities safe from disasters.

My Top 3 Priorities
- In order to tackle our growing homelessness problem, we must tackle the root causes of homelessness are often complex. California needs to partner with the federal government to develop solutions that make it easier to build more workforce housing.
- I support the repeal of the individual mandate and the rights of Americans to choose healthcare plans that work best for them and their families. I am opposed to a single-payer healthcare system.
- Taxes Tax rates should be kept low, fair, and easy to understand. As your congresswoman, I’ll support the extension of the middle-class tax cuts and will fight to make them permanent.

Biography
Tamika Hamilton was born in Calvert County, Maryland, in 1984. Estranged from her father and born to an underage mother, Tamika was raised by her loving grandparents, who were military veterans and farmers by trade, whom she credits with instilling in her the importance of public service.
Upon graduating from high school, Tamika enlisted in the United States Air Force, where she served on active duty for over 14 years. She deployed twice to the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, the United States Global War on Terror.
Tamika and her husband, Ray Hamilton, live in Dixon, California, with their four children Kaedyn, Gabriella, Ryan, and Beau. Ray is also a veteran (US Navy) and continues their family’s public service as a local police officer. Both Ray and Tamika are active in their local church and volunteer with local community groups. Tamika’s experience with her homeless ministry, particularly her work with homeless veterans, is what motivated her to take a stand for her community and run for Congress.
Tamika’s district is a very dynamic and diverse cross-section of California with farming, viniculture, urban population centers, and two Air Force bases. As a candidate for office, she is focused on core issues that will impact the daily lives of her constituents.

Questions & Answers
Questions from League of Women Voters of California (3)
Given the catrasophic amount of deficit spending done by the United States government, a better path to funding infrastructure projects would be to finally adjust the gas tax for inflation.
I support the repeal of the individual mandate and the rights of Americans to choose healthcare plans that work best for them and their families. I am opposed to a single-payer healthcare system. I believe the free market produces the competition needed for medical practitioners to develop groundbreaking treatments for some of our most pressing healthcare crises. As your congressman, I will support efforts to reduce insurance costs, such as allowing residents to buy insurance and to fulfill prescription services across state lines.
Taller gates, wider doors. I support an immigration policy that secures our borders, but allows those who follow the process properly to have a less bureaucratic path to citizenship.
