My Top 3 Priorities

  • Restore the nation’s health and economy - I’m focused on practices and policies that will contain the virus, produce a vaccine and save lives and livelihoods.
  • Build on the ACA to ensure that all Americans have access to affordable, quality healthcare and reduce the cost of prescription drugs. I support including a public option in the ACA.
  • This summer’s fires are just one example of the impact of climate change - we must act now to reduce our carbon footprint, invest in and transition quicker to renewable energy and once again collaborate with other nations to reverse global warming.

What programs or legislation, if any, would you support to help Americans of all ages to secure affordable health care?
Answer from Anna G. Eshoo:

I support protecting and strengthening the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid and Medicare to achieve affordable, universal health care for all. I am also committed to ensuring that insurance companies protect their patients. As Chair of the House Subcommittee on Health, I have recently worked on legislation to reduce the cost of prescription drugs, eliminate “surprise” billing, improve the maternal mortality rate and raise the legal age for buying e-cigarettes and cigarettes.

Describe an immigration policy that you would support if presented to the House of Representatives.
Answer from Anna G. Eshoo:

I support comprehensive immigration reform that provides a timely pathway to citizenship for our undocumented community and especially Dreamers, modernizing our visa program, providing humanitarian relief for those fleeing violence, enhancing border security and increasing employer accountability for employing undocumented workers.

What financing method(s) would you support to repair or improve roads, rails, ports, airports, the electrical grid, and other infrastructure in the U.S.?
Answer from Anna G. Eshoo:

I await the introduction of a comprehensive Infrastructure bill.  I support spending federal dollars for this national responsibility. Proud too have written “Dig Once” legislation that requires that every road built with federal funds must build in cable for broadband.  It’s efficient and cost effective.
