Biography

A Dayton, Ohio native, Shayne graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wright State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and has an MBA from University of Tennessee. She has worked as a government contractor for over 7 years and has honed skills at Jacobs, BTAS, KBR, Tecolote Research, and currently Northrop Grumman.

As a Proposal Analyst for Northrop Grumman located in Redondo Beach, Shayne has proved to be a critical team player at developing creative solutions for our federal government’s needs, which is what she is excited to bring to the City of Redondo Beach. Passionate about serving the community and having a more connected relationship with constituents, Shayne sees the local government as an opportunity to make a direct and immediate impact.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Disappointed by the bureaucracy of politics, Shayne sees the role of Mayor as truly being a megaphone for the people and is committed to advocating the best interest for residents of all demographics, especially the most vulnerable. Shayne aims to unify the community by leading with love, an open ear, and transparency.

Recognizing the devastating effects Covid-19 has had on the community, Shayne knows that the combination of compassion and out-of-the-box thinking is necessary to heal Redondo Beach from the inside, out. Education, mental health, homelessness, and small business support are areas that Shayne plans to prioritize, above all else.

Beyond her relevant technical skills, Shayne has a natural ability to motivate and inspire people to see their purpose. Shayne’s determined nature and search of personal growth is what brought her to California from the humble life she came from in Ohio. Creative projects of interest include a weekly podcast focused on mindfulness and community connections, a community garden, beach cleanups with the Mayor, and an open forum where the community can share uplifting, success stories.

An explorer, visionary, and truth/justice seeker at heart, Shayne is sure to bring a fresh perspective to politics in Redondo Beach.
