This Candidate forum was held on May 12, 2022. It features three of the four candidates fot the two open seats on the Sonora City Council: Suzanne Cruz, Darren Duez, and Andy Merrill. Kurt Bryant had accepted the invitation to the forum, but regretably had to cancel due to illness. The League of Women Voters of the Mother Lode sponsored the debate and provided the moderator, past League President, Leonides Russell.

Political Beliefs
Political Philosophy
I am non-partisan. Being that we're in a small town, all voices have to be heard. City Council is a nonpartisan position, so I strongly believe that our representatives need a Sonora first approach to their decision making. Albeit, partisan ideals flow from both parties, in city council I want to listen to both sides and create the best possible solution for everyone. I have kept away from close affiliations with either central committee, yet have gone to great lengths to converse with as many residents possible over my candidacy.
