Prof. John Bernades Kalani for the Banning Unified School Board of District, Trustee Area 1
Prof. John Bernades Kalani has been a member of the Pass Area for the past 15 years, and during that time has been a significant contributor to his community, both professionally and through his volunteer services. Even though he holds the title of Professor, he prefers to be known as just “John,” and everyone that knows him as such can easily recognize him from afar by his large smile and down to earth, good-hearted nature.
John has been a Lead Supervisor for the Entertainment Technician Department at the Casino Morongo Resort and Spa for the past 5 years. Prior to moving to the Pass Area, He was Vice President of Post Production and Head Editor of RLD Distribution as well as the Special Events Coordinator at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) as the “go-to guy” for all video and sound needs for every event held at any facilities within the UCLA district.
Professor Kalani held classes in Editing and Sound Mixing at Colombia College of Hollywood 1998 until 2004 The same institute where he earned his Bachelor’s of Arts in Cinema. He also earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management from the American InterContinental University.
John spends his free time as a volunteer in various organizations. John has trained search and rescue dogs for the Riverside Sheriff’s Department’s K9 Search and Rescue Team, as well as assisting the Civil Air Patrol for the United States Air Force. But John’s favorite volunteer work is riding his motorcycle as a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, who attend military funerals of fallen Servicemembers to ensure that honor and respect is given to the deceased member as well as their families, and if need be to shield them from any political protest that might come with the death of a member of United States Armed Forces. John seeks to become a seat on the Board of Trustees to ensure that the quality and high standard that is expected from Banning Unified School Board District continues on and is know state, as well as nation wide. John plans to bring his expertise in video and sound to the table to help make the arts thrive at the highest level.
A vote for Professor John Kalani is a vote for the Arts and a brighter future for Banning Unified School Board District. Trustee Area 1
