Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Reduce homelessness - no tent camps near schools and neighborhoods, expanded homeless services and vouchers for homeless to return to their home cities/states
  • Proactive wildfire safety - before the dry and windy season starts we must take proactive steps to reduce the fuel for wildfires
  • Public Safety - in my city I was successful in lowering 911 response times by increasing patrols in neighborhoods

Profesión:Orange County Business Owner, Councilwoman 2010-18
City Councilwoman, City of Anaheim — Cargo elegido (2014–2018)
City Councilwoman, City of Anaheim — Cargo elegido (2010–2014)
Mayor Pro Tem, City of Anaheim, City Council — Cargo designado (2013–2014)

Since 2010, Kris has served Anaheim residents as their advocate on the City Council.

Kris hit the ground running when she joined the City Council and brought her experience as a businesswoman to help Orange County Taxpayers. As a champion of fiscal responsibility, Kris works hard to ensure Anaheim has a balanced budget and puts money away for a rainy day—all withoutraising taxes.

Kris believes in protecting taxpayers from government waste and misuse. She authored resolutions aimed at protecting Proposition 13 and authored the Anaheim Taxpayer Protection Act, passed overwhelmingly by residents, to avoid unneeded and unnecessary tax hikes. She believes government’s financial woes shouldn’t be placed on the backs of hardworking taxpayers. She also supported expanded transparency measures in Anaheim to keep the public trust intact at City Hall.

Kris has made Anaheim a safer place to live and work by prioritizing additional funding for public safety. While on the Council, Kris led the charge in hiring 40 additional police officers to protect the community and put over a dozen firefighters back in stations to reduce emergency response times. With the goal of creating a city that residents can be proud of, Kris has focused on graffiti removal, repaving streets, extending library hours, building new community centers, and developed Anaheim’s award-winning Quality Rental Housing Program to strengthen code enforcement and clean up neighborhoods, restoring more than 60,000 rental units to meet city’s health and safety codes. She also authored a ban on sex offenders in city parks and places children frequent to keep families and children safe.

Kris has made it her priority to ensure that Orange County residents have access to the services they need. She has raised awareness around human trafficking, worked to combat childhood exploitation and resettle victims. She wants to make sure children are protected and not left to be victims of a broken system. Kris knows that all social services are connected, which is why she is working to curb crime and homelessness by increasing and improving shelter and social services. Kris was instrumental in establishing the county’s first full- service homeless shelter capable of providing year-round services to our county’s most vulnerable population while ensuring community safety. She is leading the charge on finding comprehensive and permanent solutions to eliminate homeless encampments across the county.

Kris has championed more than $6 billion in development projects that will bring economic benefits to the region for generations to come.Projects include the recent expansion of the Anaheim Convention Center, ensuring its place as the largest convention center on the West Coast, multiple four-diamond hotels and the largest expansion of the Disneyland Resort in two decades with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, opening in 2019. Murray’s leadership helped create thousands of skilled jobs in Anaheim and will generate hundreds of millions in new city and county revenue – supporting quality of life services for residents and keeping local taxes and fees low.

During her tenure, she has chaired the annual Orange County/Anaheim Job Fair, a program that has secured full-time employment for more than 3,000 job seekers – a very public sign of Orange County’s success when stakeholders work together.

A strong supporter of Orange County’s nonprofit community, Murray has served foster kids and families as a community board member of Seneca OC. She also supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim, Anaheim YMCA, Cops4Kids, Orange County Family Justice Center, Anaheim Beautiful, and many others helping to make our community

better. She was also recently appointed to the California Women’s Leadership Association Board of Directors. Murray and her husband Steve love their community and chose to raise their family in Orange County. They live in Anaheim Hills with their son Garrett and their two rescue dogs, Bailey and Copper. They spend family time volunteering at Boy Scouts, Little League, Anaheim Hills Community Council and at school activities.

Kris has a long-held belief that giving back is the only way of ensuring a brighter future for those who come after.

Filosofía política

Too often government waits for a problem to blow up into a crisis before acting to protect the public.  This anathema to what our founding fathers intended.  I am running for Supervisor on my record of rolling my sleeves up and getting results for my constituents and never letting the status quo or petty politics stand in the way of giving the people good government.

I faithfully served two full terms on my city council, where I passed policies that lowered 911 response times by adding more police patrols in our neighborhoods, banned homeless tent cities and moved the homeless into shelters or out of state to their states of origin, and lastly I am most proud of that we did all of this withouot raising taxes.
