I am currently serving as a City Council Member, having served two terms as mayor and I'm running for re-election
In August I celebrated 52 years working for the City of Scotts Valley. I started as young high school student as City Hall Secretary taking the minutes for City Council meetings. I moved one year later to the police department and worked hard to become the first Scotts Valley female police officer, later a sergeant. I am proud to have served a total of 40 years with Scotts Valley Police Department when elected to City Council 12 years ago. All of my adult life has been serving Scotts Valley, this is my home.
I graduated from Santa Cruz High, attended Cabrillo College, San Jose State and graduated from the Gavilan Police Academy. During my career in law enforcement, I received numerous local, State and National awards. I serve as President of the Fallen Officer Foundation. I have served with the Scotts Valley Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador for the past 15 years having held the various positions including President. I was named 2011 Woman of the Year for the City of Scotts Valley.
While serving on City Council, I have served with a variety of commissions including Santa Margarita Groundwater Agency, METRO, LAFCO, Senior Commissions, Criminal Justice Agency, Traffic Safety, AMBAG and more. My experience and history have enabled me to be a strong advocate for Scotts Valley in a wide variety of areas.
With my history with Scotts Valley, I bring relationships, critical knowledge and experience valuable in working toward recovery. I have a proven record of service, strong work ethics and I am committed to our community ready to continue this work when re-elected to the Scotts Valley City Council.
