My Top 3 Priorities
- Protecting our north state water rights and increasing water storage and flood protection are all crucial to our local economy.
- I won’t accept any plan to alter Prop. 13 or raise taxes on already overburdened California taxpayers.
- I oppose the Governor’s plan for early release of nearly 50,000 prison inmates. AB 109 (Public Safety Realignment) is bad public policy.
Experience
Biography
I have lived in the North State my entire life and like you, I know that our values are second to none. We look out for one another, and we know the hard work it takes to put food on our table. We know that each mom and pop store, each school and each hardworking family means jobs, education for our children and a better way of life.
I wouldn’t trade that for anything.
This is my home. A place where my family has put down deep roots. My ancestor, Anthony Gallagher, first settled here in the late 1800s, acquiring a small farm where he raised pigs and draft horses along with oats, hay, and barley. Generations later, the farm has grown and the crops have changed but we are still farming the same land that his hard work and determination acquired.
California was a land of opportunity for my ancestors, but it has become much less so. Small businesses are struggling and many are failing under a barrage of never ending regulations and heavy taxation. The property and water rights of our farmers are uncertain. Our communities are less safe from criminals. The great values of the immigrants that made this State great have been tossed away in the name of political correctness. The Golden State has become the Broke State.
My family instilled in me that the great things of community are not free – they are brought about by sacrifice, service and hard work. I cannot stand idly by and watch their legacy be destroyed by out of touch politicians and special interests. That is why I am running for State Assembly. I want to work with you to preserve our values so that this State can again become a land of opportunity.
My wife Janna and I have three children. I want the next generation of Gallaghers to have the same great opportunities that I had growing up – the freedom to work and produce something of value, to have access to education and job opportunities, and to raise our families free from government interference and morally bankrupt agendas.
We need effective leadership that will stand up for our rights in the region. I believe I have the right background to be that champion. Growing up on a farm, I understand agriculture and the water that is its lifeblood. As a small business owner I know what it takes to balance budgets and make payroll. As someone who has studied the law, I have the tools to fight in the arena of Sacramento. I have dedicated my life to being an advocate for farmers and small business and I will be a strong advocate for the North State.
If elected, I will bring a common sense agenda to Sacramento. I will fight for balanced budgets that limit spending and prioritize three fundamental things: education, public safety, and infrastructure. I will work to reform or eliminate regulations that are crippling our businesses. And I will be a fierce defender of our North State water rights.
To accomplish this I will need your help. The challenges we face cannot be solved by one person alone but only by harnessing the power of “we the people.” In order to do this we must ensure the government is open, transparent, and accountable. I have my platform and plan of action but I want to hear from you and gather your input and ideas. Together we can turn this State around.

Infrastucture, Education, restoring social programs that have been cut.
Yes . I do support the increase of minimum wage. I believe that the impact on jobs if any at all are out wieged by the econimics of consumer spending and the ability of full time workers to not have to rely on public services.
Our legislature should continue to push for full disclosure of funds spent by third party pacs not controlled by the candidate .We need to strengthen our laws on lobbying office holders and consider those meetings as public meetings.
