Political Beliefs
Political Philosophy
I’m Jay Obernolte, State Assemblyman for California’s 33rd District. Before being elected to the State Assembly I served as Mayor of the City of Big Bear Lake. I’m also the owner of a business in our District. 25 years ago I founded my company, FarSight Studios, in my college dorm room. Since then we’ve grown to be a leader in innovation and technology in the video game industry. Currently FarSight Studios provides good paying jobs for dozens of local residents. But most importantly I am a husband and father. I have been married to my wife Heather for over 19 years and we have two sons, Troy and Hale.
I’m passionate about representing you in the Assembly because I want to make sure that our children can grow up and thrive in a State that values personal freedom and the American Dream. I’d also like to use my background in technology to update and upgrade our government. In the Assembly I have promoted legislation that streamlines bureaucracy, creates transparency in government and reduces California’s burdensome regulatory and tax climate. I am a California optimist and I believe we can turn our State around, but I need your help. If you have any feedback or would like to make a comment please email me at jay@electjay.com.
