A lifetime of serving the needs of her community has led me to the decision to run for public office.
“Creating community is what transforms us and is at the heart of how we creates opportunity for all of us. My success in life is due to the help and support of teachers, friends and family, and I feel a deep responsibility to be part of ensuring that the next generation has the same opportunities I’ve had. Have you thought about who to vote for on Nov 8, 2016 elections for California’s State Assembly?
Why not vote for Martha?
Let us explain why you should.
If you stand for affordable tuition, a healthy job market, and a thriving economy, there’s no better option than Martha Flores-Gibson.
If you want public safety, business opportunity, local development, and progress on the environment, maybe you should look into her plan. But before we delve into the details of her policy proposal, let us address an important question for those who don’t know: who is Martha Flores-Gibson?
Martha is, at the same time, an established public servant with decades of experience in education and a rising superstar in California’s District 70 electoral map. She has done more than most when it comes to the welfare of the District 70 community through public service and non-profit and non-governmental initiatives. And she’s still prepared to offer the residents of San Pedro, Catalina, Signal Hill, and Long Beach a comprehensive plan for addressing some of the key issues facing the community. Martha favors small government, cutting taxes, and more power in the hands of the community members.
Here’s an overview of the four cornerstones of her policy proposal:
1. Public Safety
If elected Martha plans to adopt a vigorous anti-crime approach to ensure the safety of her District 70 community. From San Pedro to Catalina and from Signal Hill to Long Beach, protecting the citizens is her ultimate priority.
And she plans to bring the power of tackling crime and insecurity to the people of her community. This is the reason why she favors the formation of a Public Safety Association & Establishment. She plans to revive the Neighborhood Watch Program to offer ultimate protection.
She promises to fight for more police funding and firefighter funding. Only with a well-resourced first responder base can we improve the effectiveness of response and a safe community.
2. Business growth
Martha’s foundation of her business policy would be built on two critical elements: planning and forecasting. Her approach to ensure business growth involves analyzing current trends to create forecast planning outlines. And this is why she aims to create 'Active Focus Groups' to develop a multi-corridor model for business growth.
Martha knows and understands the relationship between business growth and higher education. And she plans to use that relationship to the absolute advantage of the job-seeking youth and misplaced workers.
3. Local Development
A comprehensive plan for local development is one of Martha’s key priorities for when she’s elected. And she aims to base that plan on the feedback of the community. Her plan involves building communication lines to encourage the flows of information for integrated solutions.
She also plans to incorporate technology into the daily activity to promote the development of new local businesses.
4. Environment
The environment is one of Martha’s key concerns. And she believes in a proactive approach to addressing environmental issues.
Through her efforts, Martha aims to provide each member of the community a fair chance to participate in better environmental decision-making.
5. Education
When it comes to education, Martha plans to be one of the strongest voices in the State Assembly arguing for affordable tuition. Her ultimate aim is to offer affordable college education for millions of young Californians. Not just that. She wants to create district partnerships with the libraries to promote the involvement of youth in study groups.
Student safety is a key concern of hers. She wants to create safety protocols to reduce violence on campus. And as a District 70 representative, she would do her best to grant the power of decision-making to the local school districts rather than being forced to follow state mandates.
