Biography
Born in San Diego at Mercy Hospital, raised in the Imperial Valley, John Renison is the only son of a hard working Hispanic businesswoman and was raised with the highest standards of moral values. After graduating from a Vincent Memorial Catholic High School in the city of Calexico in 1995, he started working for his mother's U.S. Customs Brokerage business and also started his own trucking business. Due to the nature of the business, Renison's political ambition and interest began as he got involved with industry border security programs right after 9/11. He travelled across the border into Mexico on a daily basis and became familiar with cultures and business practices from both sides of the border. In 2014, John launched a delivery technology start up that serviced major online retailers and hired over 200 employees during the first year. He received recognition as an entrepreneur by Discover San Diego and has been a TEDX speaker. In 2016, he ran for California State Senate as his first political endeavor and has been heavily involved in politics since then.
Currently a rising political social media public figure, John Renison is becoming well known for exposing lies of the political elite and the biased media. He understands the challenges faced along the border region and will fight to uphold our constitution and protect the Second Amendment.
John lives in Coronado California, with his wife and two daughters.

Biography
At the age of four, Juan Carlos “Charlie” Mercado and his Mother were abandoned by his Father. Months after, his Mother passed away.
Charlie had no choice but to find work throughout his childhood as a piñata maker, and a field worker.
After high school, Charlie attended San Diego State University and enrolled in the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. He graduated as Cadet Commander, first in his class, and as a Commissioned Officer. He also served in Iraq as an infantry soldier.
To help veterans deal with the cruelty of deportation and inform everyone, Charlie established the help center “Deported Veterans of America” and authored the books “Fate of a Deported Veteran” and “Fe Americana.”
Due to Charlie’s exhausting work in the United States and abroad, deported veterans are now receiving their benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs, and they are returning to America.
Charlie seeks an immediate end to the deportations of American soldiers, veterans, and their families.
He supports an increase of the minimum wage, an increase of social security benefits, health care for all and better pensions.
Charlie is 100% against donations from corporations, lobbyists and special interests.
He endorses a plan for student loan debt forgiveness, less incarceration and free education.
Charlie is not a career politician, and his entire political campaign is self-funded. He pays for everything out of his own pocket.
Now, he is humbly asking for your support, you vote, and for the opportunity to serve you.
Gracias, Salamat, Danke Schön, & Thank You.

Questions & Answers
Questions from League of Women Voters of North County San Diego (5)
No, I believe everyone has the right to live and work in any country of their choosing, free of harassment and government abuse. I call for an end to deportations and the attacks on immigrants and for open borders and the abolition of ICE and the Border Patrol.
No, I call for the dismantling of the border wall and for open borders. Workers have no countries.
Yes, however, although I believe it is far too easy for the wrong people to get their hands on military-grade weapons, I believe gun control is used as a way to keep tabs on the population and take away their democratic rights. I believe the issue of gun violence in America has a deeper cause that has to do with the sickness of American society and its glorification of police and military violence. To do away with mass violence, we must do away with the source, capitalism.
I oppose NAFTA, but not from a nationalist, right-wing perspective, but from a left-wing, internationalist one. I call for the unification of Mexican and American workers against transnational corporations as part of the struggle for a world socialist economy.
I would support any legislation which would improve access to health care for all Americans, but this is imposible under the for-profit health industry. I call for free, socialized medicine for all, which would be paid for by nationalizing the health and insurance companies in the interest of working people and not corporations.

Political Beliefs
Political Philosophy
Kevin Mitchell is running on a socialist, anti-war and anti-capitalist program in the interests of the working class in California and around the world. He opposes all forms of national chauvinism, racism and anti-immigrant baiting. He will fight to unify all workers in California, the United States and internationally and prepare the working class for the historic struggles that lie ahead. He opposes both the Democrats and Republicans and their ruling class agenda of war, social counterrevolution, and dictatorship.
His political party, the Socialist Equality Party (SEP) advances a program not for the improvement of capitalism, but for its abolition and replacement by socialism. This means an end to the private ownership of the large corporations and their transformation into publicly owned enterprises under the democratic control of the working class. To provide quality jobs to all those who need them, the SEP calls for a multitrillion-dollar public works program to rebuild crumbling infrastructure throughout the country.
The SEP fights for the right of workers to live and work in any country they wish. Mitchell demands the immediate end to Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids as well as the detention and deportation of immigrants. The SEP opposes all national prejudice and insists that workers in the US, immigrant and native-born, share a common fight against the bosses and billionaires who exploit them.
The fight for peace, equality and democracy is inseparable from a fight against the capitalist system, which subordinates the global economy to a criminal financial elite. The oligarchs control the political system and both major parties. To defend their rights, workers need their own party.
Mitchell's campaign is not simply about votes. It is an important part of the fight to build a socialist movement and provide a political alternative to the masses of workers and youth who are looking for a way forward. He urges you to get involved in the campaign. Now is the time to take up an active fight for socialism!
