University and earned a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science. Shortly after earning her credential, she
accepted a job offer at Nuview Bridge Early College High School in the Nuview Union School District. Nuview Bridge matched her own personal philosophy about education -using the public school system to create innovative thinkers, involved citizens, and engaged learners by preparing underrepresented students for college and career readiness through selectively tailored programs and support systems.
In her eleven years of service, Michelle has taught U.S. History, Government, Economics, World History, AVID, and Leadership. Additionally, she has served as the school’s advisor for Associated Student Body (ASB), California Scholarship Federation (CSF), and National Honors Society (NHS). She has been elected twice to the site Advisory Council. She also serves on the high school’s Quest Committee, which has designed and implemented a school-wide program dedicated to student discovery, collaboration, and innovation. Additionally, she has been selected by her peers as Teacher of the Year in 2009, 2013, and 2016.
