Questions from League of Women Voters of California (4)
What programs, proposals, projects, or legislation would you support to meet the water needs of all Californians?
Answer from Joe Lisuzzo:
Government must build water catch basins, reservoirs and holding facilities immediately. Year after year, CA loses TRILLIONS OF GALLONS of precious, natural rain water and snowpack water to runoff because we have neglected to build the proper facilities. This water crisis must be met with a greater sense of urgency.
Describe what proposal(s) you would support to alleviate the shortage of affordable housing for middle and low income people in California?
Answer from Joe Lisuzzo:
In order to make housing and EVERYTHING in CA more affordable, we must STOP GOVERNMENT WASTE (google the EDD Debacle in CA). Additionally, the state must lower taxes (especially the gas excise tax per gallon, which is the highest in the USA) for citizens and small businesses.
What programs or strategies would you suggest to meet the educational needs of young, low-income Californians?
Answer from Joe Lisuzzo:
School choice is the key to helping these children and families succeed educationally. In CA we spend approximately $14,000 per primary school child and consistently fail them. Parents should be able to receive school vouchers and choose where their children will be educated. This is our tax dollar, accordingly WE the people should be allowed to spend it to purchase the best education possible for our children.
To reach a goal of carbon neutrality by 2045, as set forth in a 2018 executive order what, if any, proposals, plans or legislation would you support? Please be specific.
Answer from Joe Lisuzzo:
Government preparation and organization is the key to success to becoming more carbon neutral. Government often puts the cart before the horse and is ill-prepared for large scale projects, thus leading to public apathy. We also must embrace the concept of nuclear power as we have done in the past. It is the cleanest and most cost efficient power. Look at France... the same folks we want to join in the Climate Accords, this country runs on nuclear power.

Political Beliefs
Position Papers
Public Safety
Summary
As a State Senator, I will Vote to Approve any bill that Increases Public Safety on our Streets & in Our Schools. I will "Refund" the Police and Never Defund Police.
Government's first and foremost obligation is to protect the people from all enemies foreign and domestice. Without Law, there is No order. I wiill abide by the Constitution and its Amemndments to ensure safety and freedom.
Homeless Care
Summary
Homelessness is a Humanitarian Crisis that affects us all.
Homelessness is a non-partisan issue that is multifaceted and fixable. As a state senator, I will treat this issue with compassion and urgency. Aside from housing, our homeless must be provided with treatment programs in accordance to their needs. This is not a money issue but rather a matter of logistics and strategic planning.
Taxes and Inflation
Summary
Taxes and Inflation are crippling families and businesses.
As a State Seantor, I will work towards reducing taxes for businesses as well as individuals. I will work toward creating a gas tax holiday until fuel prices stabilize and return pre-covid pricing. Our Governor claims that California is experiencing a budget surplus. If so, these tax funds should go back to the people, especially during these trying financial times that are rife with inflation.
