Consejo Municipal — Ciudad de Galt

I've lived in the Galt for 16 years with my wife and family. I retired after 32 years as Longshoreman/Clerk at the Port of Stockton. As a member of Galt Sunrise Rotary and a current Board Member for Micke Grove Zoological Society. I've been involved in community projects and organizations as a volunteer.

  I was a member of The Galt Planning Commission during the General Plan update in 2009, and I've been a champion for smart growth for our city. I'm looking foward to being an active participant on our City Council as we continue to grow as a city. I feel it's important that we consider expanding the business footprint for our existing businesses that might need to expand, and those that might be considering Galt as a new partner,

 If elected, I will donate back 50% of any and all compensation I receive as a member of the Galt City Council to the Non-Profits in our community, as I believe they've been an important partner in how we have developed as a community. I  want the Non-Profits to feel they're a part of everthing that is great about Galt, just like you and our family do. If you have questions or concerns call me (209) 329-2253.

I have been involved with our City's Planning since 1986, and have attended League of California Cities Planning Conferences and a 16-week SACOG sponsored course on 'The Practice of Local Government Planning'.  During this period, I was also appointed to 4 regional and 5 City Commissions. My professional background is in Maintenance, Plant Industrial (Facility) Engineering and I have worked for local, national, world-wide and government organizations.  Probably my most satisfying job was working on the Northridge Earthquake event supervising 17 FEMA Field Teams that wrote $190 Million in grants for the Los Angeles Unified School District. • Associate in Arts, Sacramento City College. I have been married to my wife Grace for 45 years. She has worked for the City of Galt Police & Finance Departments and the past 26 years at CTA (formerly TRACS, SCT/Link). Our daughter started school in Galt and graduated from Galt High School. Along the way she was on the Galt Gators Swim Team, played soccer, fast pitch softball and has worked at the Gora Aquatic Center. My daughter now works for the State of California. I was born in Pennsylvania, but before arriving in Sacramento to attend High School, I had traveled around the world, lived in Indonesia for 2 years and had visited 17 countries along the way. After graduating from Cal Poly, living in Salinas, CA. and then North Canton, Ohio our family finally settled in Galt. I'm also a grandfather; enjoy family, traveling and the outdoors.

 

 

My family and I moved to Galt in 1981.  I have served the community as a Planning Commissioner, Sacramento Environmental Commission Board Member, City Council Member, life member of the Galt Area Historical Society serving as past President and Treasurer.  I bring a lot of experience and continuity to the position.

 

I firmly believe that council members are involved citizens of our community and are your voice in city government. I pledge to be responsive and represent all citizens to the best of my abilities. I am committed to having a safe community, good schools and helping Galt grow in a planned, orderly, sensible and fiscally responsible manner.

 

In every single decision I have ever made while serving the citizens of Galt it has always come down to what is best for our City.
